Summer Programme 2004 Highlights 

• Fire safety evening - a series of evenings working towards the Scout fire safety badge. Anglia fire protection did us proud, with a talk followed by some hands on sessions at tacking fires. A follow-up session and quiz are to be used to test what has been learned.

• Pitch & putt evening - Very simple to organise. Just find a local course and turn up. Best to ensure you go when there's not too many other punters on the course and be prepared to go searching for lots of lost balls!

• A Pizza hut - We organised this as a thank-you to the Scouts for the fundraising over the year. Find a restaurant who will take a loads of Scouts and look out for kids menus which work out cheaper. We went to Pizza Hut.

• Canoeing evening - We got in touch with Chelmsford Canoe club who got us afloat on the River Chelmer. There was time to practice some basic skills and play a few games.
